A brand new disposable that will not hit is almost always fixable in under a minute. Work through these fixes in order before you consider a return.
Fix one: check for shipping protection
Most disposables ship with a silicone plug in the mouthpiece and a sticker over the airflow hole at the bottom. Remove both. This solves more dead disposable complaints than everything else combined.
Fix two: wake the battery
Rechargeable disposables often ship in a sleep state or with a low battery from the shelf. Plug into USB C for 15 minutes even if it is brand new. If a light comes on while charging, the device is fine and just needed power.
Fix three: clear the airflow
Take several short, gentle puffs rather than one long hard pull. Hard pulls on a new device can flood the coil. If you hear gurgling, flick the device downward firmly a few times with the mouthpiece pointing down, then puff gently.
Fix four: cold weather
Juice thickens in a Canadian winter. A disposable left in a cold car can refuse to wick until it warms to room temperature in a pocket for ten minutes. Never warm a device on a heater or radiator.
When it is actually defective
If none of that works, stop. Do not disassemble it, lithium cells are not user serviceable. A genuinely dead on arrival unit is covered: contact us within 48 hours through the contact page with your order number and we replace it. Buying authentic stock from a real retailer is exactly why that guarantee exists, which is the quiet argument against marketplace grey imports.
