Three formats and why that matters

The usual path for a vaper is disposables first, then a refillable device once the running cost starts to register. The obstacle is almost always flavour: people resist switching because they do not want to lose a profile they have settled on.

A brand that sells disposables, pods and bottled liquid removes that obstacle. You can move from an Ultra disposable to a Sync pod filled from a 30 ml bottle and keep the same flavour family, changing only the hardware and the cost.

The Ultra disposable line

The Ultra 2500 at $24.99 is the standard device and the Ultra 7000 at $27.99 is the high capacity option. The difference is liquid volume and, consequently, how long each lasts before the flavour starts to decline.

Both are rechargeable, which on a high capacity disposable is a necessity rather than a feature. A battery large enough to vaporise all the liquid in one charge would make the device impractically large, so the manufacturer fits a smaller cell and a USB C port.

Recharging buys you the remaining liquid. It does not extend the coil and it does not make the device refillable. When the taste turns harsh and burnt, the wick has failed and no amount of charging will undo it.

The zero nicotine Ultra

The Ultra 0mg at $24.99 is the same device and flavour experience with the nicotine removed. Nothing is substituted in its place, and the main perceptible difference is a softer throat sensation, since a good part of what people call the hit comes from nicotine itself.

It works best as the final step of a gradual reduction. Jumping from 20 mg straight to zero usually produces irritability and a return to the previous strength within days, whereas halving the strength and holding each step for two to three weeks works far better.

The Sync pod system

Sync Replacement Pods at $12.99 are the refillable side of the brand. Rather than buying a sealed device every few days, you fill a pod from a bottle and replace the pod when the coil tires, typically after one to two weeks.

Priming matters here in a way it does not with a disposable. Put a few drops of liquid directly onto the exposed cotton, fill the pod, then leave it standing for five to ten minutes before the first puff. Firing dry cotton carbonises it permanently and is the usual way a new pod is ruined on day one.

The bottled Salt Nic E-Liquid

The 30 ml bottles at $12.99 use salt nicotine rather than freebase. Salt is smoother at higher strengths and absorbs faster, which suits small low power devices and recent ex smokers, and it is the reason a strength near the Canadian cap is tolerable in a pod at all.

Because it is salt nicotine, it belongs in a device with a coil resistance above roughly 1.0 ohm. Putting it into a sub ohm tank delivers several times the intended nicotine per puff and is genuinely unpleasant, which is the single most common setup error we see.

Moving from the disposables to the pods

The transition is easier than people expect and the main adjustment is simply handling liquid. Fill the pod, prime it, wait ten minutes, and vape as normal. Everything else stays the same.

Expect the draw to feel very slightly different, because a refillable pod coil is not identical to a sealed disposable coil. Give it a few days rather than judging it on the first tank, which is when a new coil is still settling.

Keep a spare pod primed and ready. Swapping takes seconds and it removes the temptation to keep using a pod that has already gone past its best, which is how people end up inhaling scorched cotton for a day longer than necessary.

Getting the most from an Allo device

Draw slowly and gently. Hard pulls flood the coil, waste liquid as condensation and make the device gurgle. Leave a few seconds between draws so the wick can reabsorb, since chain vaping is the fastest route to a burnt taste.

Store devices and pods upright at room temperature. Heat degrades liquid and battery alike, and deep cold temporarily reduces usable capacity enough that a healthy device reads as dead outdoors in winter, which we explain in vaping in cold weather.

Wipe the pod well or the device contacts every week or so with a dry cotton bud. Condensation collects there and insulates the connection, and intermittent firing that looks like a dying battery is usually nothing more than that.

How Allo compares with other brands we stock

Common Allo problems and fixes

A burnt taste on a disposable with liquid still visible means the wick can no longer keep up with the coil. That is the end of the useful life rather than a charging problem, and no amount of charging reverses it because the cotton is carbonised.

A burnt taste on a brand new Sync pod is a different problem entirely, and it means the pod was fired before the cotton was saturated. Prime properly and wait the full ten minutes. If it happens repeatedly, check the liquid ratio, because anything thicker than a 50/50 will not wick fast enough through a pod coil.

Gurgling means flooded, usually from hard draws or from overfilling a pod with no air gap left at the top. A device that will not charge is worth trying with a different cable first, since cables fail at the connector far more often than devices do.
