Voopoo

Refillable pod kits built on the shared PnP coil platform, from the compact Vinci Q through to the Drag flagships, so coils and spares carry across the range rather than being stranded.

Voopoo is built around two things: the Drag line, which is the name most people recognise, and the PnP coil platform that runs underneath much of the range. The second is the more useful of the two, because a shared coil platform means the coils you buy are not stranded when you change device.

We stock five: the Drag S2 Pod Kit at $44.99, the Drag X2 at $49.99, the Argus P1 at $27.99, the Vinci Q at $24.99 and PnP Replacement Coils at $17.99 for five. Everything here is refillable, and there are no disposables in the range.

The PnP coil platform

PnP coils push into place rather than screwing in, which is where the name comes from. More importantly, the same coil family fits across a range of devices instead of each device having its own format.

That consistency is worth real money over time. A coil bought for one Voopoo device generally works in another, so upgrading does not strand a drawer full of consumables, and you carry one type of spare rather than several.

The range of resistances within the platform is wide, which is what lets one device cover a tight mouth to lung draw at higher nicotine and a much looser restricted lung draw at lower nicotine. You change the coil rather than the device. Our replacement coils range explains how resistance, wattage and nicotine relate.

The Drag S2 and Drag X2

The Drag S2 at $44.99 and the Drag X2 at $49.99 are the flagship pod kits. The practical difference between them is the battery: the S2 uses an integrated cell and the X2 takes a removable 18650.

That choice matters more than the price gap suggests. An integrated battery is simpler and there is nothing to handle, but when the cell eventually tires the device is finished. A removable cell means you can carry a spare and replace a tired one years later, at the cost of having to handle lithium cells properly.

If you take the X2, read our batteries and chargers guidance. Cells must come from a reputable manufacturer, must never be carried loose in a pocket, and must be retired when the wrap is damaged or the capacity has visibly fallen.

The Argus P1 and Vinci Q

The Argus P1 at $27.99 and the Vinci Q at $24.99 are the compact end of the range. Both are pod devices with integrated batteries, both take PnP coils, and both suit a mouth to lung draw with the higher salt nicotine strengths Canadian retail permits.

They are the sensible entry points into the platform. You get the same coil ecosystem as the Drag devices at roughly half the price, with less battery and fewer adjustments.

For someone leaving cigarettes, either is a better first purchase than a Drag. A compact mouth to lung device at a higher strength is what suits that transition, and our best vape for beginners in Canada guide explains why.

The consistent coil platform is the reason to think of this as a range rather than as five separate products. Start at the bottom, and if you move up later your coils come with you.

Integrated against removable batteries

This is the main decision within the range and it is worth thinking about properly rather than defaulting to the cheaper option.

An integrated battery is sealed in. Charge it over USB C, never think about it, and accept that in two or three years the device will hold less charge and eventually need replacing. That is fine for most people and it is why most devices are built this way.

A removable cell adds obligations but removes the expiry date. You can swap in a fresh cell for a few dollars years later, carry a charged spare for a long day, and the device itself can last as long as you look after it. If that appeals, the Drag X2 is the one, and our vape mods guide covers removable cell handling in more depth.

Matching liquid to the coil you fit

Because the platform spans a wide resistance range, the liquid that suits one coil will ruin another. This is the most important practical point on the page.

Coils above roughly 1.0 ohm want a thin 50/50 liquid and suit higher salt nicotine strengths. Coils around 0.6 ohm and below want thicker high VG liquid and need low strength freebase, because you are inhaling far more aerosol per puff.

Putting 20 mg salt nicotine through a low resistance coil delivers several times the intended dose and is genuinely unpleasant. Putting thick high VG liquid into a high resistance coil produces a burnt taste within days. Our vape juice range states the ratio on everything, and our nicotine strength calculator matches strength to hardware.

Voopoo Drag pod kit with PnP coils
The Drag line is the recognisable name, but the shared coil platform is the more useful feature.

Priming a PnP coil

Push the coil into the pod, put a few drops of liquid directly onto the exposed cotton through the openings, then fill the pod and leave it standing for a full ten minutes before the first puff.

Take a few draws with no power if the device allows it, then start at the lowest wattage in the printed range and work up over the first pod until the flavour peaks. A new coil often tastes slightly off for the first few millilitres before it settles.

Firing dry cotton carbonises it permanently, and no amount of liquid afterwards lifts that taste. This is the single most common way a new coil is ruined on day one.

Common Voopoo problems and fixes

A pod that reads as not connected is almost always condensation in the pod well insulating the contacts. Remove the pod, wipe both the pod contacts and the well with a dry cotton bud, and reseat it.

A PnP coil that leaks or floods is often not pushed fully home. Because they push in rather than screw in, a coil can feel seated while the seal is not compressed evenly. Remove it and press it in firmly and squarely.

A coil burning within days points to liquid too thick for the resistance rather than to faulty coils. Match the ratio first before buying more coils. Our walkthrough at why a vape stops hitting covers the diagnostic order.

How Voopoo compares with other brands we stock

Against Vaporesso, the closest comparison, both run a coil platform across a range of devices. Vaporesso spreads wider into high wattage mods while Voopoo concentrates on pod kits and pod mods.

Against Uwell and OXVA, all three are strong refillable options. Caliburn has the reputation for the tightest mouth to lung draw, Xlim has the cheapest consumables in our listings, and PnP has one of the widest resistance ranges on a single platform.

Against closed systems such as STLTH or disposables from Gcore and Vice, Voopoo asks more of you and costs far less to run. Our refillable versus disposable vapes comparison sets that out with numbers rather than opinion.

What a Voopoo setup costs to run

The device is a one off purchase and the recurring costs are coils and liquid. A PnP coil lasts one to two weeks for most people, and a moderate vaper uses between 2 mL and 4 mL of liquid a day.

At $17.99 for five coils and with liquid the only other recurring line, the annual figure is substantially below what the same consumption costs in disposables, where you repurchase a battery and a shell alongside the liquid every few days. The gap widens the more you vape, which is why heavier vapers almost always end up refilling.

Two things shorten coil life more than anything else. Sweetened dessert and candy liquids caramelise onto the coil and can halve it, while fruit and menthol profiles are far gentler. Chain vaping is the other, because the cotton has no time to reabsorb between draws. Neither is a fault in the coil. Our vaping versus smoking cost calculator puts the whole comparison against what you were spending before you switched.

Canadian availability and the rules that apply

Every Voopoo product we list sits at or under the federal 20 mg/mL nicotine cap set out in Tobacco and Vaping Products Act. That is why Canadian versions are not directly comparable to the same model sold in markets with a higher ceiling, which is worth knowing if you are reading international reviews.

Because every device here is refillable, the nicotine cap applies to the liquid you buy rather than to the hardware. Everything in our vape juice range sits at or under the federal ceiling, and provincial flavour rules are tracked in vaping laws by province. The Drag X2 takes a removable cell, which must travel in a plastic case rather than loose in a pocket or a bag.

We operate an age gate on every visit and ship only inside Canada in Canadian dollars. Carriers, timings and tracking are on our shipping and delivery page and faults on our returns policy page. Anything containing a lithium cell travels in cabin baggage rather than checked luggage when flying, as Transport Canada lithium battery rules requires, and our guide to taking a vape on a plane covers the rest.

Common questions

What are PnP coils and what fits them?

PnP coils push into place rather than screwing in, and the same coil family fits across a range of Voopoo devices rather than each device having its own format. That means coils are not stranded when you change device, and you carry one type of spare.

What is the difference between the Drag S2 and Drag X2?

The battery. The S2 at $44.99 uses an integrated cell and the X2 at $49.99 takes a removable 18650. A removable cell means you can carry a spare and replace a tired one years later, at the cost of having to handle lithium cells properly.

Which Voopoo should I buy first?

The Vinci Q at $24.99 or the Argus P1 at $27.99. Both are compact mouth to lung pod devices on the same coil platform as the flagships, at roughly half the price, which makes them the sensible entry points, particularly if you are leaving cigarettes.

What liquid should I use?

It depends entirely on the coil resistance you fit. Coils above about 1.0 ohm want thin 50/50 liquid with higher salt nicotine. Coils around 0.6 ohm and below want thick high VG liquid with low strength freebase. Getting this backwards is genuinely unpleasant.

Why is my PnP coil leaking?

Often it is not pushed fully home. Because these coils push in rather than screw in, one can feel seated while the seal is not compressed evenly. Remove it and press it in firmly and squarely. Overfilling with no air gap left is the other common cause.

Does Voopoo make disposables?

Not in the range we carry. Everything here is refillable, which is the whole point of the brand: a lower running cost and free choice of liquid in exchange for filling pods and priming coils yourself.
