Vaporesso

The broadest range we carry, from the compact XROS pod line through to 200 watt dual battery mods, built on coil platforms that carry across the range so you can move up without relearning anything.

Vaporesso is the broadest brand in this shop. It is the only one that covers the whole range from a compact pod device you can forget about, through a mid range pod kit, up to a 200 watt dual battery mod, all built on coil platforms that carry across the range.

We stock eleven products spanning that spread. The XROS 3 Mini is $10.99 as a device only, the XROS 3 Pod Kit $24.99, the XROS 4 Mini $29.99 and the LUXE XR MAX 2 $29.99. At the other end the GEN 200 Mod Kit is $79.99 and the Target 200 $74.99, with the iTank 2 at $27.99 and GTX coils at $17.99 for five.

Why range breadth matters

Most brands pick a segment. Vaporesso covers the whole ladder, which has one genuine practical benefit: you can move up or down without leaving the coil platform you already understand.

Someone who starts on an XROS at $24.99 and later wants more power can move to a GEN 200 and a GTX tank without relearning how coils are named or which resistance suits which liquid. The vocabulary stays the same.

It also means the brand has to be competent at several quite different things, and in practice the XROS pod line and the GEN mod line are both strong for different reasons. They are not really competing products and should not be compared to one another, any more than a city car and a van are competing products despite sharing a badge.

The XROS pod line

The XROS is the compact end. The XROS 3 Mini at $10.99 is sold as a device only and is the cheapest refillable device we carry, which makes it a genuinely inexpensive way to try the format. The XROS 3 Pod Kit at $24.99 is the complete kit, and the XROS 4 Mini at $29.99 is the current compact.

These are mouth to lung devices with adjustable airflow and refillable pods. They take a tight draw, suit the higher salt nicotine strengths Canadian retail permits, and use a thin 50/50 liquid rather than a thick high VG one.

The LUXE XR MAX 2 at $29.99 sits slightly above them, with more battery and more capacity while staying in the same broad category. All of them cost far less to run than a disposable habit at the same consumption.

The GEN 200 and Target 200 mods

At the other end, the GEN 200 Mod Kit at $79.99 and the Target 200 at $74.99 are dual battery regulated mods. Both take removable 18650 cells, which means you can carry a spare and replace a tired cell years later rather than replacing the whole device.

A 200 watt maximum is far more than almost anyone needs, and it is not the reason to buy one of these. The reasons are battery endurance, precise wattage adjustment in small steps, and a clear screen that shows coil resistance before you fire.

Removable cells bring obligations. Use married pairs from a reputable manufacturer, never mix ages or charge levels, never carry cells loose in a pocket, and inspect the wraps. Our batteries and chargers range covers this properly and our vape mods guide explains regulated devices generally.

The iTank 2 and the GTX coil platform

The iTank 2 at $27.99 is the sub ohm tank designed to sit on those mods. Wide airflow, low resistance coils, considerably more vapour, and it demands much lower nicotine because you inhale far more aerosol per puff.

GTX Replacement Coils at $17.99 for five are the platform that runs across much of the range. A coil platform used consistently means a coil you buy works in more than one device, which is worth more than it sounds when brands change formats every generation.

Match the liquid to the coil. Sub ohm coils want thicker high VG liquid at 3 mg to 6 mg freebase. Putting 20 mg salt nicotine into a sub ohm tank delivers several times the intended dose and is genuinely unpleasant, which our nicotine strength calculator explains.

Read across rather than down. The pod devices and the sub ohm tank want opposite ends of the nicotine range, and mixing them is the most uncomfortable mistake in vaping.

Choosing where to enter the range

If you are leaving cigarettes, start with an XROS. The tight draw and higher nicotine are what suits that transition, and at $10.99 for the device only version the cost of trying it is close to nothing, and our vape kits range covers the complete starter options if you would rather buy everything in one box.

If you already vape and want more vapour, a mod and the iTank 2 is the step up, with the understanding that it means dropping to a much lower nicotine strength and buying thicker liquid.

What you should not do is buy a 200 watt mod as a first device while filling it with high strength salt nicotine. That is the single most common and most unpleasant setup error we see, and our best vape for beginners in Canada guide exists partly to prevent it.

Priming, and the first pod or coil

Whether it is a pod coil or a sub ohm coil, saturate the cotton before it is ever fired. Put a few drops of liquid into each visible juice port and onto the exposed wick, assemble, fill, and wait a full ten minutes.

Then start at the bottom of the printed wattage range and work up over the first tank until the flavour peaks. A new coil often tastes slightly off for the first few millilitres before it settles, which is normal.

Firing dry cotton carbonises it permanently and no amount of liquid afterwards will lift the taste. This is the usual way a new coil is ruined on day one, on this brand as on every other.

One habit specific to a range this broad is worth adopting: label your coils. If you own both an XROS and a sub ohm tank, you will end up with two coil types in the same drawer that look superficially similar and want opposite liquids and wattages. Keeping them in their original packaging until the moment you fit one prevents an expensive and unpleasant mix up, and our replacement coils listings name the device each coil fits.

Common Vaporesso problems and fixes

On the pod devices, a pod that reads as not connected is almost always condensation in the pod well insulating the contacts. Wipe both with a dry cotton bud and reseat it.

On the mods, a no atomiser message is nearly always a dirty 510 connection, a coil not screwed down fully, or a tank whose pin has been pushed flush by overtightening. Clean the connection with isopropyl alcohol and reseat before assuming anything is broken.

A coil that burns within days points to liquid that is too thick for the resistance rather than to faulty coils. Match the ratio to the coil. Our walkthrough at why a vape stops hitting covers the full diagnostic order.

How Vaporesso compares with other brands we stock

Against Uwell and OXVA on the pod side, all three are strong and the choice is largely about which coil ecosystem you want. Caliburn has the reputation for the tightest mouth to lung draw and Xlim has the cheapest consumables in our listings.

Against SMOK on the mod side, both field capable regulated devices and tanks. Vaporesso generally runs a tidier coil platform across its own range.

Against Voopoo, the comparison is closest of all, since both run a coil platform across pods and mods. Against disposables from any brand, the running cost difference is the whole argument, and our refillable versus disposable vapes comparison sets it out with numbers.

Canadian availability and the rules that apply

Every Vaporesso product we list sits at or under the federal 20 mg/mL nicotine cap set out in Tobacco and Vaping Products Act. That is why Canadian versions are not directly comparable to the same model sold in markets with a higher ceiling, which is worth knowing if you are reading international reviews.

Because these are refillable devices, the cap applies to the liquid you buy for them rather than to the hardware. Everything in our vape juice range sits at or under the federal ceiling and provincial flavour rules are tracked in vaping laws by province. The GEN 200 and Target 200 take removable cells, which must be carried in a plastic case rather than loose.

We operate an age gate on every visit and ship only inside Canada in Canadian dollars. Carriers, timings and tracking are on our shipping and delivery page and faults on our returns policy page. Anything containing a lithium cell travels in cabin baggage rather than checked luggage when flying, as Transport Canada lithium battery rules requires, and our guide to taking a vape on a plane covers the rest.

Common questions

Which Vaporesso device should I start with?

An XROS if you are leaving cigarettes. The tight mouth to lung draw and higher salt nicotine suit that transition, and the XROS 3 Mini at $10.99 as a device only makes the cost of trying it close to nothing.

What is the difference between the GEN 200 and Target 200?

Both are dual battery regulated mods taking removable 18650 cells, at $79.99 and $74.99. The differences are in body design, screen layout and interface rather than in capability. Neither needs its 200 watt maximum in normal use.

Do I need a 200 watt mod?

Almost certainly not. The reasons to buy one are battery endurance, precise wattage adjustment in small steps and a clear resistance readout, not the maximum figure. Most vaping happens well under 60 watts.

Can I use the same liquid in an XROS and an iTank 2?

No. The XROS is a mouth to lung pod device suiting higher salt nicotine in a thin 50/50 base. The iTank 2 is a sub ohm tank needing low strength freebase in a thick high VG liquid. Mixing them up is genuinely unpleasant.

What are GTX coils and what do they fit?

GTX is the coil platform that runs across much of the range, sold at $17.99 for five. Using one platform consistently means a coil you buy works in more than one device rather than being stranded when a format changes.

Why does my mod say no atomiser?

Nearly always a connection rather than a fault. Liquid residue on the 510 pin insulates the contact, a coil is not seated fully, or overtightening has pushed the tank pin flush. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and reseat before assuming the mod is broken.
